Lancaster Leather Sofas

Meet...my sofa.  It's from here.  I love this sofa.  I love it because it stands up to kids and a bulldog and wears like a bomber jacket and I love it because Mark and I can lay on it side by side without being squished and uncomfortable.

In fact, we love it so much that we bought a second one just like it, only a tad smaller.

But, here's the thing.  It is not easy to find pillows that compliment a 4 foot by 8 foot sofa, because they are all too small.  It's also not easy to find pillows that make it feel fresh and fun and like we live at the beach and not in a log cabin in the woods.

I custom ordered some pillows {and paid an embarrassing amount of money} a few years ago for the sofa and they have worn well, but they are tired and it's time to change them.  I knew there was no way I was going to do the custom route again {what was I thinking?!} so I searched at Pottery Barn, Restoration, Anthropologie, etc. But I always came up short because either the pillows are too small or too pretty and not touchable or they cost over $100 each.  Sigh.

So, I started trolling Etsy and found Plush Studio.

Special order for Amber

Bingo!  I saw a few fabrics in Erin's shop that I loved instantly and sent her a message about making them a bit larger for me.  So, she made me three of these wide navy stripe pillows in 26x26 {which is perfect because that is the same size as a Euro Sham, so the inserts are readily available}.

And she made me 2 of these yellow chipper ones in 20x20.   I love the fun and fresh look of these and yellow is the perfect accent to the dark leather.

Her prices were super reasonable.  My pillow covers arrived in less than 2 weeks {I had to wait 6-8 weeks for my last batch of custom pillows!}.  They were perfectly pressed and folded, and each one is finished with a zipper.

And...

This was in the box!  A hand written thank you note!!  Who does that?  I didn't get one of those from my custom pillow lady {even though I probably paid for her Disney dream cruise...ugh.}

Erin even sent me large fabric swatches of each fabric so that I could take them shopping with me to buy other things for the room.

You can head here to check out her fun shop!

I'm still looking for a few pillows in other fabrics to add to the mix.   Maybe a round pillow or a long bolster?  I would love to hear your suggestions!

  2. As a fellow Etsy seller I am so glad to hear that your experience was so great. It's the little things that matter. I try to do a nice wrapping of my items and I was so excited when I made my very first sale and the person wrote me and said how nice it was.
    Oh, and you are really trying to get me to switch my house to yellow aren't you?! LOL!
