a valentine's scavenger hunt

I love Valentine's Day and I have become a teensy bit obsessed this year.  I thought it would be fun for Reid to have a little Valentine's Day scavenger hunt after school next Monday, so I made these fun bags to hide all over the house and yard.

I am going to wrap this tag up with a coloring book and leave it in his dining chair where he usually has his afternoon snack.

I filled the bags with lots of different things: a new box of crayons, a pez dispenser, a pack of gum, $5 rolled up with a ribbon, quarters, chocolates, etc.

Some had coupons too {like "1 free hour of Wii" and "1 date to the movies with Mom or Dad"}

Here are the supplies I used:

::Valentine's themed cardstock

::Paper punches {small heart and large scallop circle}

::Red glitter mini clothespins

::Mini lunch bags

::Avery labels

Once I punched all the scalloped circles, I typed up the clues on Avery labels and put one on the back of  each circle.

Each bag that he finds will have a "clue" clipped to the outside giving him a hint about where the next bag is hiding.  Inside the bag, of course, are the treats!

I punched out hearts from the glittery cardstock and used a glue stick to "number" the bags 1-10.

And, voila!!

I think this will be a great way to spend Valentine's afternoon and give Reid a fun memory!

I can't wait!!  What about you, do you have any fun ideas planned for Valentine's?  I would love to hear them!!
