what i've been up to...and a giveaway

{I have spent at least 2 hours staring at this wall hoping one will jump out at me}

Hello sweet friends!  Sorry for my lack of posting over the last week.  My days have been filled with Mother's Day orders, packing the last of the boxes and staring at paint swatches.  After painting all these swatches on the wall, I think I may have actually decided on one.  Whew!  So glad that's over!

I thought maybe we should have a giveaway to celebrate, what you do guys think?

Here is the giveaway question...if you were painting this wall {which is actually a whole room and stairwell and loft...} what color would you choose?  Let me know your answer in the comments and you will be entered to win one of the new Aubrey necklaces that were just introduced last week!  Yay!!

PS Please oh please for the love of all things holy don't say that you would pick the orange that it was to begin with.  I've invested way too much time to deal with that heartbreak.  Lie if you have to.  You have my permission :)

I'll announce the winner {and the final paint selection} here on Friday night...good luck!!

  1. I would definitely choose #4 because it looks a lot like our stairwell and downstairs and I LOVE the color!!!! How exciting!!! girlforgod27@aol.com

  2. I vote for #1...and for the record I have been dying to paint my bedroom a similar color! :)

  3. I personally like the shade of #2. The brightness of it will make the room/area look larger, plus it will reflect any light in the room, which is always a plus for any room.

  4. Great question Amber although I fear that if there are a large number of us who choose a blue that's different to the one that you've picked that you may sent into another colour-spin.

It's a tough call because I'm a huge fan of the muted blue but for this space I will go for '4' because it seems to capture the light in a certain way.

  5. I like 2 because it seems the brightest. Hurry and pick though because have you seen Ashley from LMM's bedroom wall. She still hasn't picked a color. I think if you don't just o for it, then it becomes more daunting. Good luck!

Oh yes! I am in love with this design, especially because yesterday was my anniversary.

  6. I vote #4! Love the color!

  7. I love dove grey but I also love all things blue especially for a hall way. #3 is speaking to me.

  8. Number 4 jumped out at me! Looks great with the wood too. The necklace would be a great gift for a friend's 10 year anniversary in June. :)

  9. I would pick 5 it is not real bright nor to dull it just looks like a soft tone.

  10. #4 or #6 would get my vote!

i love that you are giving the aubrey away to celebrate your "i don't have to stare at the wall anymore, i finally made a decision" decision! wahoo for us (and you too)!

thanks for the chance to win!

  11. I also would pick #5 on my computer it looks like a nice compliment with the wood trim.

  12. I like #4 because it's not too dark and bightens up the room! Good luck with painting! :)

  13. I'm between 4 and 5 - but if you twist my arm I say #4
    Good luck

  14. I'm gonna go with #6! I think its gorgeous! :) I also think that the color compliments the wood very well! Thanks for the oppurtunity for a chance to win one of your amazing pieces of art!

  16. I like #4 it has good dimension :) So fun to see all the things you do!

  17. #4 was where my eye went to first! Never mind, I meant #5!!!

  18. I like #4 for a more subdued look or #5 for a brighter feel. Good Luck!

  19. I like #1 and #4...but I don't think you can go wrong with any of those colors! My dining room, bedroom, entryway, and powder room are all similar to those! :)

  20. I like #3. Bright and pretty, but any one of them would look awesome. LOVE the Aubrey necklace too!

    ReplyDelete
  21. I love #4 because it looks so nice against the trim!

    ReplyDelete
  22. I would choose #2. It's calm, cool, and would be a really relaxing color. Which I love!

    ReplyDelete
  23. I like #1. That color makes me happy. :0)

  24. Hi Amber..

Although I have already won one of your gorgeous necklaces, I wanted to respond to your paint question. I love #4. The color jumped out at me immediately...not too bright, not too dark. Love it.

If by chance you should choose me to win, I would like you to pick someone else...someone who has not had the opportunity to own one of your beautiful creations.

    Good luck.

  25. My first choice would be #1 and then #5 as a back-up. This is why:
#1 is kind of a muted blue, which would look fabulous against the natural wood. The room also looks a little bit dark, so I think the cool, muted blue color will ADD a splash of color, but not in a garish way! This blue kind of reminds me of a "Hamptons blue" or something - looks nautical.
#5 is the back-up because it looks light and airy, not a heavy color.
    Good luck!

  26. I choose #4! Lovely color and I don't think you will get sick of it

  27. I personally like #6 the best but prefer darker colors, as a second choice i would pick #1. I love "storm cloudy" blues!

Depending on the orange, I might have stuck with it but I have an unhealthy obsession with orange :)

  28. although my fave is #2, I think #3 works best with the trim. I'm a fan of the lighter colors, because that seems to be the way now! Lighten & brighten. But really, any of these colors work (except the current color, lol!)

    ReplyDelete
  29. I love #6. The darker colors always make rooms seem bigger :)

    ReplyDelete
  30. I like number 5, because it's darker but still a bit light!

    ReplyDelete
  31. I absolutely LOVE #5. it seems like the perfect shade of blue!

    ReplyDelete
  32. I have a feeling our answers are only going to confuse you more! I'd go with either 4 or 5. They're all really pretty shades though.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I would go with #5. I think all of them are beautiful though! ;D

  34. You are asking the wrong person, I just did a post this week asking for advice on our living room since we just put new hardwood floors in our house we want to paint before the new baseboards go up. All of the colors look so similar to me. I have taken some decorating classes but I am always so wishy washy. My advice, if it's a spot your not going to be in all the time, feel free to be a little bolder with the color. I think I am leaning towards the darker color choices you have. Does the room get a lot of natural light, if so I would go with the darker. If you want to look at my room and offer opinions I will take it too. I follow through google connect.

  35. I like #6. I recently painted one of my rooms grey and wish I would have gone darker. So I say go for it.

  36. I like #4. It is in between all of the colors and would be something you will like for years to come. I did my room a lighter blue and while calming, it was almost too bright once the entire walls were painted.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I think all of them are pretty, but I think I would have to choose #5.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I would go with #4. It looks beautiful with the wood trim and stairwell! 1 & 6 are too dark, and the others I think are too blue for the dark wood. (maybe if the trim was white they would look better) You asked for opinions... boy, you just got mine!!! : ) I hope I win!! I LOVE, LOVE your jewelry!!

  39. I think 4. Once you paint a second coat it will look more like 1 (which is really my fav). The lighter colors seem like they wouldnt look quite as well with the color of the trim.

    ReplyDelete
  40. If the brown trim is staying brown then I would pick a lighter color. My fave is #3!! I can't wait to hear what you decide!

    ReplyDelete
  41. I choose #2 ... i'm a swiss coffee (white) wall kinda of person so that's the closest :)

    ReplyDelete
  42. My first question is are you keeping the paneling the wood color? If you are the I would go with a lighter color, so maybe # 2 or 3. If you ate painting the paneling white, then I would go with one of the darker colors to make the white pop!!

    ReplyDelete
  43. Definitely #3 how beautiful!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  44. My vote is for #4. Subtle but still a beautiful blue!

    ReplyDelete
  45. I like #6 the best because of the way it looks next to your trim. Gorgeous!

    ReplyDelete
  46. personally, i kinda love #4 as a color in general, but #5 seems a little more neutral, like it would make a much more sensible backdrop for all your decorative stuff. kristinmik at gmail

  47. Love #2, it will brighten it right up!

  48. My eye went straight to no. 3! I think it would great with the darker wood trim. :)

  49. I love No. 6
So pretty next to that beautiful wood stair case. I hope your having fun playing house!
