yay!! another birthday giveaway!!

{photo from pinterest.com...is that not the most beautiful cupcake you've ever seen?}

I hope you all enjoyed yesterday's giveaway from Plum Street Prints.  If you haven't entered, head here and be sure to get entered into the giveaway.  Both Plum Street Prints giveaway winners will be announced here on Thursday evening.

For today, I thought it would be fun to have a birthday giveaway of my own.  Thank you for all the birthday wishes yesterday!  I had so much fun celebrating with my family.  We made pink cupcakes and Mark treated me to a homemade dinner of steak and mushrooms, baked potatoes and wine.  Yum!!

And, this weekend I am headed on a girl's trip with my bestie.  Cannot wait!!  I am pedicured and ready to go!!

Are you ready for today's giveaway?  Since I am 30, how about a winner for each decade?  I am going to give three of you {yes 3} any necklace of your choice from the shop!  Yay!  This is officially my biggest giveaway ever on the blog!!!  I am super excited and I hope you are too!!

Want to enter?  Just leave a comment below telling me what your favorite age was and why!!  So far, I would say mine was 21.  That was the year I fell in love with Mark and my life changed forever.  Sappy, but true.  Best thing that's ever happened to me.  I adore that guy.

I heard the 30's are the best decade - I'm ready!!!!

Okay, your turn!  Best year/age and why!!

I will announce the winners here on Friday!

  1. That's amazing for you to giveaway three necklaces! What a gift! you are sooo thoughtful. My favorite age was 16-18 when I was in highschool and the only thing I worried about was boys and what i was going to wear to school. Now bills, life and work have consumed me. I wanna go back to the days when life was much easier.

    Happy birthday! Enjoy your 30's!

  2. How nice of you! You know how to celebrate a birthday!

I'd have to say 18 or 29...18 for when I went to college 1000 miles away from home and had to stand on my own two feet or 29 for when I became a mother for a first time. Both amazing times in my life!

  7. Happy Happy Birthday!

I think 25 was my favorite birthday. I wasn't old, I wasn't young, I had been out of college for a couple years and was independent, it just felt like a good age. Oh, and it didn't hurt that my car insurance went down:)

Since I don't have any kiddos, I would go with the "taylor" necklace with my initial.

  8. I loved the time when I was 19-22. That's when I was living in NYC. I was young and had no money but was having the time of my life. No responsibilities! It was great!

  9. Happy Birthday a day late! As far as my favorite age...when I was in my teens, I never thought life could get any better. Then I got into my twenties and thought life was great and much better than my teens (which it was don't get me wrong...college was lots of fun). Now that I am in my thirties (32 last week) I can't imagine being any other age. This decade I got married and had my first kid (all within the past year actually) and love the maturity and knowledge that comes with being 32.

  10. Happy belated birthday!

I'm 24 going on 25 this month, and I would have to say that 9 is still my favorite age. I really have no idea why, I just loved that age. Sometimes, I wish life was as simple as it was when I was 9! :)

  11. Happy Birthday!!
It's hard to pick a favorite, I've been so lucky to have such a happy life, I feel like I have pretty much loved every age. I think now (32) is great because I have my two kids and love every minute with them. My second favorite would have to be 6 years ago (26) when I was pregnant with my first. It was still just my husband and I, but I had that beautiful life growing inside, everything was so fun and new, but our lives were still quiet and peaceful!

  27. Happy Birthday! My favorite year was when I turned 20. Two weeks later I was engaged, and 5 months later I was married! A lot of good and bad happened to me that year, but it was probably the year I've grown the most.

  28. Fun! I'd say when I was 24 because we moved into our house, my husband took (and passed) the bar, and we went to NYC all over the course of 48 hours! It was a whirlwind that I'll never forget.

  29. 30 was the best! My son was born!

  30. Happy birthday! My favorite was 23...it was the age when I became a mom and when my life changed forever. If that hasn't happened yet to some of you, just wait, you can't imagine how your life will inexplicably change. Your heart walks around outside of your body and you look at that little face and feel like you are getting a glimpse of heaven. :)

  31. Happy Birthday!!! I would have to say my teen years were my favorite. I became a mom pretty early (wouldnt change it for the world!) so im glad i lived to fullest back then! My favorite age? 25! Why? My son was born and he is absolutely the best thing to ever happen to my husband and I! I thought 21 was fun because I was in college and going out a lot... but staying home on a Saturday night with my husband and son beats everything else in the world!

  36. Happy birthday!!!!!!!!!!

My FAVOURITE year was my 13th.... I spent my summer at riding camp, I read 53 books to win a library competition (even if I may have cheated and counted a few short stories), I "grew up" and went to highschool, got my first pair of contacts (GOOD-BYE four eyes!!), kissed my first boy, became a woman (not so awesome I suppose).....

What a perfect, perfect year. I'm turning 30 this year; and I know it will rival 13 - I'm getting married, and this whole year will be planning.....

Hope your 30th is as wonderful as everyone's best year :)

  37. Happy Birthday! My favorite age was 20. It was the year I married my husband! I do have to say this year (33) is pretty darn good too. I have four great kids and an awesome husband. Plus, I know so much more now than I did in my twenties.

  42. Happy Birthday! I am going to be 34 in July and I would say my thirties have been much more fun then my 20s. I am a bit nervous about hitting that mark where I am closer to 40 then 30 but I do think I am actually looking better then I did in my twenties, as long as I don't look to close, lol.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I think 30 was my favorite year. I had just had my first son and was staying home with him. I resigned from my job, taking a ton of stress off my shoulders. And my husband was home at 4:30 every afternoon to enjoy the rest of the day with us. Ahhh.... the good old days. :) Enjoy 30 and thanks for the giveaway!

  44. Love the 30s. Free to explore and learn and hopefully because you're a little smarter from all those crazy 20s you won't get in trouble for it!

  48. Thank you for giving gifts for *your* birthday! I would have to say that 27 was my best year because my daughter was born in June of that year. I turned 30 in March and am hoping it will be my best year yet...I love the Stella necklace, by the way. "Lucky Mama"...SO TRUE! ~Cee~

  49. I have to agree with the above comment, so nice of you to give away gifts for your birthday! Although mine is exactly one month from today so this could potentially be a birthday gift for me?!! Haha I will be 34 this year and I have to say this last year has probably been the best, so 33 it is! My son turned 2 in February and I have enjoyed watching him grow and no matter waht anyone says, I think 2 is a great age he's so smart and I love that he can talk to me now :) I would also have to say 33 because I have fallen more in love with my husband this year and have finally become comfortable in my skin and with this little town we relocated to 3 years ago :)

  51. What an awesome giveaway!

I'd probably say age 20 when I met my husband and studied abroad in London... or age 25 when I had my son!

    ReplyDelete
  52. Welcome to your DIRTY THIRTYS!!!! HA HA HA

This might be totaly inapropriate but I have to say 26. I was making a decent SALARY and only worked part time. I spent every evening and weekend out with friends, traveling, and blowing money!! I guess it was my last Hoorah before I met the man of my dreams, settled down, and had to pay the bills! lol I remember jumping into the ocean naked, weekend trips to portland, sleeping on random friends floors... I just remember feeling so free and able to do whatever I wanted. Im extreamly happy now, I have a wonderful husband, an exciting new business, and all around love everywhere... but Ive never quite felt as free as I did when I was 26.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I'm happy that you had a wonderful birthday! My best year so far was the year I turned 30.... alot changed for me that year emotionally and physically..... it was a turning point for me in my life.

    ReplyDelete
  54. This year now, my 29th is my best. I have had many challenges and life lessons that I have learned and it's made me into someone I didn't know I could be. I am stronger, more creative, and I am learning to " just go with it". Change is good and sometimes our worlds need to be shaken up in order to finally push ourselves to do the things we were too scared to do. Every year I have a personal motto for my new age and 29 is the year of indulgence and I have been doing just that. I will be leaving my 20's with a bang and I am loving it!

    ReplyDelete
  55. I would have to say my 30's have been pretty amazing! After settling into marriage and then becoming mom to 2 wonderful boys...life is great! it can only get better from here, right? hope your birthday was wonderful!

    ReplyDelete
  56. Even though I will be 29 in two weeks, I'd have to say this year was the best - hub got a job, new house, beautiful boy, and everything has just been peachy. What a way to celebrate, with a new necklace and new year.

    ReplyDelete
  57. I think that maybe twenty was my best age. I had so much fun with my friends. Plus, I graduated college with my BA and got married. I purchased my first REAL car (you know on a loan). Really, it was a BIG year.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Not sure my favorite year, but I would say 18-22! I was single, young and in college. Thanks for the chance to win!!

    ReplyDelete
  59. My favorite age thus far was 26 because that's the year I had my baby girl!

    ReplyDelete
  60. Happy Birthday, and thank you for the giveaway! I am much older than most of those that commented so I can't pick a fav. year. I have lived 61 years so far and hope for many more great years.

    ReplyDelete
  61. i would have to say there has been something to love about each decade, but the best thing that ever happened to me was my son. i had him at age 32. i have loved every moment with him. i feel bad not saying something about the hubs, so i will say, he is the one that convinced me that kids were a good idea-boy was he ever right!

    ReplyDelete
  62. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! I'd have to say that my fav age was 18. I was engaged to the man of my dreams and building a house together. Now we have been married almost 8 years and have two beautiful little boys!

  65. Oh my gracious! I'm so excited for this giveaway. I hope I win, I know exactly what I'll ask for if I do.
As for the best age, I would say 26. I can't remember anything super remarkable about being 26, but it's an age where you feel just right. Not too young and not too old.
OH DUH! I had my first baby at 26 too, so that makes it special.

    ReplyDelete
  66. My favorite what 27-now (34 on Saturday). Becoming a mother three times over has given me such drive and purpose in life. It has made me a better wife, daughter, and friend because I think it's given me a more compassionate, empathetic perspective. Looking at others with "mother eyes" makes people easier to deal with. They were someones baby and were loved as much as I love my brood.

  67. When I turned 50 my life changed for the best... believe it or not 50 is wonderful.

  68. So hard to say what's been the best year/age & why... all of them to some degree of course. But, in the last day or so I find myself looking back to about 18 - you're on top of the world finishing high school, you're just starting college - You have the giddy excitment of all that is life laying ahead of you. I didn't know what or who lay ahead. I was surrounded by friends & enjoyed going out & hanging out & it was always there. (something that is not true anymore...having a good friend to call up any second to do any number of things) That season of life reminds me of spring - fresh, blooming, exciting. So many good times!
