christmas house

The truth is that my house won't be fully decorated for Christmas until the wee hours of Christmas morning when I run around putting up little pretty things, rearranging every piece of furniture, setting up tables and centerpieces and making it just right.  But we do have a few things up around here.  I'm linking up with the Nester today for a little Christmas inspiration!

Advent bags and tiny ornaments strung on twine to make a little garland.

Burlap wreaths on candleholders.  I like the mix of rustic and shiny on the buffet.

It's kind of funny how you can make anything look Christmas-y by adding ornaments.  And, when you have a 2 year who pulls everything off the shelves, it's kind of nice to be able to decorate something up high.

Our tree.  I promise it's lit to the top.  I don't know why this photo makes it look like there are only lights on the bottom.  There is a better photo of the lights in this post.  I traded my old tree skirt for a length of burlap.  I like the simplicity of it.

This is a little tree in Reid's room and it takes all the will power that I have not to rearrange the ornaments the way I think they should be!  But, it's the boy's tree and they have fun getting ornaments and deciding where to put them so I am trying my hardest...

My favorite Christmas decoration in the house.  A wreath I made last year from my Dad's Marine Corps blanket.

There you have it.  What about you, are you done with your decorating or are you last minute scrambler like me?

  1. I'm a last minute scrambler this year, because we are moving tomorrow! I usually have everything in place and spend the week before Christmas baking. Not this year! LOVE the ornaments on your chandelier. Looks great!

  2. I love your tree and the cushion you made! I'm never done with the decoration forever tweaking and changing it.
