This week has been a bit hectic. I am trying to get all of the Christmas orders out and I haven't had much time for anything else. Like laundry. Or dinner. But that hasn't stopped me from daydreaming about my next diy.
I have been crushing on this photo for a good long while:
It's from an article over on AT about turning an old ornate mirror into a magnetic chalkboard.
I have been scouring Craig's List for probably a year trying to find a vintage, not too expensive mirror to use for this project and I finally found something I liked enough to snag. Want to see?
It's gigantic. Almost six feet long. And it was just $40. I want to spray the frame high gloss white and then of course spray the mirror with chalkboard paint. Did you know that you can actually spray the chalkboard paint right on the glass? That's what they say at least. I'll let you know how well it works...
Welcome to the corner of my workshop that is filled with projects patiently awaiting my attention. That upside down stool? Needs to be recovered. The dresser? It was my grandmother's and I need to paint it. That gigantic tower of boxes?? The boys baby things. I promised Mark I was going to go through those 6 months ago...oops.
Anyway, I would love to get this little project done before Christmas so we could hang it up and write something Christmas-y on it, but we'll see. This from the girl who currently has a kitchen with 2 different colors of cabinets because we still haven't finished painting them...I'll keep you posted.
Wish me luck!!
