tuesday randomness via instagram

It's really feeling like summer around here.  We have zero schedule, we are playing in the water, soaking up the sun, taking walks, and eating lots of junk food.

San Diego has been beautiful and warm the last few weeks and we are loving it!  Here are a few snaps of what we've been up to, via instagram of course.

The beach in the morning.  My favorite.  It's quiet and clean and so peaceful.

Homemade ice cream.

On our way to Coronado Island on a foggy morning.

Grant tried Pop Rocks! candy for the first time.  Ha!

We have been playing lots of Monopoly lately.  For the record, I am the champion. I'm just saying...

We love to walk down and watch the sunset on warm summer nights.  There were tons of surfers in the water this particular night.

Gorgeous sunset over the pier.

Somehow we always end up in line to get ice cream on our walk back home.

Grant is constantly all over Reid.  Reid is pretty patient with him, thank goodness.

Cute summer sandals from Target.  Love them.

Getting ready to roast some red potatoes with feta, onion and garlic.  Yum.  Get the recipe {{here}}.

Watching the Bachelorette last week.  I have to admit...it's really hard for me to care about it now that Emily eliminated Sean.  I don't get it.

Reid was in surf camp last week.  I love this pic of him and the other boys checking out the waves.

Deserted morning beach.

My honey planted me hydrangeas...Again.  I really hope that I don't kill them...Again.

My ugly microwave is finally GONE.  Yes!!!  It took a whole year, but I finally have a microwave that isn't older and heavier than I am.  You can find the original dinosaur in this post.  That was pre-white cabinets too.  Yuck!

My parents birthday's are three days apart.  We celebrated both of them last week on my Dad's birthday.  Chinese food, cupcakes, cards and laughing together.  It was just nice to be around them to celebrate how special they are to us.

Me and my Dad.

I am a Daddy's girl.  It's just the way it is.  My mom is truly one of my best friends, but there is something about a girl and her Dad.

Sweet beach babies.

Flip flops on the beach.

Exploring shells.

Grandma love.

Proud Daddy taking pictures of Reid surfing.

Surf camp is a summer highlight.  He had so much fun.  He hugged his counselor on the last day.  It was so sweet.

Red jellyfish in the bay.  They are suddenly everywhere and I'm not sure why.

View from our favorite lunch spot, one sunny day last week.

My honey.

Our 2012 summer list and countdown.  Only 49 days left!

  1. UGH, I am so with you on the Sean thing. What was she thinking? During the Men Tell All last night I told Matt I totally had a crush on Sean. Emily is crazy!

  2. Looks like you're having a fun summer. I love that surf camp picture of Reid too. Just thinking of you this morning and wanted to say hello! Edyn asked to wear her "pitty hawt" {pretty heart} necklace this morning. She has more of your necklaces than I do and has taken quite a fancy to them lately (She'll be 3 next month). Wearing one everyday is a MUST. Anyhow, I just wanted to pop in and say hello. Hope you're doing well. xo Jami

  4. Amber I just saw your post on FB and felt compelled to comment on your blog. When I scrolled through this last post my heart was warmed by the pictures of your father and the words you used to describe your relationship. I'm only a customer and blog follower but I had been wondering where you have been over the last few months. Then last night I felt such a strong prompting to check your blog and to write. I ignored my prompt which I try to never do. They are fiercely strong!! When I saw your post this morning my heart sank and I was overcome. I know my Heavenly Father was telling me to reach out to you. I am so thankful to have had that prompting, even though I'm acting on it late. :/ I did not know your dad but from your photos and words over the last few years I can see the true and eternal love you have for one another and you for so many people in your life. I will keep you and your family in my prayers. What a blessing to have had such a wonderful relationship with your father and memories of love and care that will endure forever. With lots of love,
    Dominique
